By accessing or using shebang.run ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

shebang.run provides a platform for hosting, sharing, and executing shell scripts and code snippets with features including versioning, encryption, and access control.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

• You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
• You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service
• One person or entity may not maintain more than one account

3.2 Account Security

• You are responsible for all activity under your account
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized access
• We are not liable for losses due to stolen or compromised credentials

4. Acceptable Use

4.1 You May:

• Create and share scripts for legitimate purposes
• Use the Service for personal or commercial projects
• Encrypt private scripts for security
• Access scripts via API or web interface

4.2 You May Not:

• Upload malicious code, malware, or viruses
• Use the Service to attack, harm, or exploit others
• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on intellectual property rights
• Attempt to bypass rate limits or security measures
• Scrape or harvest data without permission
• Impersonate others or misrepresent your identity
• Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or offensive

5. Content and Ownership

5.1 Your Content

• You retain all rights to scripts you upload
• You grant us a license to store, display, and distribute your public scripts
• You are responsible for the content you upload
• You must have the right to share any code you upload

5.2 Public Scripts

• Public scripts are accessible to anyone
• Others may view, download, and execute your public scripts
• Consider licensing implications before making scripts public

5.3 Private Scripts

• Private scripts are only accessible to you
• You may share private scripts via tokens
• Encrypted scripts provide additional security

6. Service Limits

• Default: 25 scripts per user
• Default: 1MB maximum script size
• Default: 50 requests per minute
• Limits may be adjusted by administrators
• We reserve the right to modify limits at any time

7. Encryption and Keys

• Private keys are never stored on our servers
• You are responsible for backing up your private keys
• Lost private keys cannot be recovered
• We are not responsible for lost access to encrypted scripts

8. Data Backup and Loss

YOU ARE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR BACKING UP YOUR DATA.

• We make reasonable efforts to maintain data integrity
• However, we do not guarantee data will never be lost
• You must maintain your own backups of important scripts
• We are not responsible for any data loss, corruption, or deletion
• Data may be lost due to hardware failure, software bugs, or other causes
• Deleted accounts and scripts cannot be recovered

9. Termination

8.1 By You

• You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings
• All your data will be permanently deleted within 30 days

8.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in abusive behavior
• Upload illegal or harmful content
• Fail to pay for premium services (if applicable)

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT:

• The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Scripts will be available at all times
• Data will not be lost or corrupted
• Security measures will prevent all unauthorized access

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
• Loss of data, profits, or business opportunities
• Damages resulting from use or inability to use the Service
• Damages from scripts uploaded by other users
• Damages from execution of scripts

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any rights of others
• Content you upload to the Service

12. Script Execution

• Scripts are executed at your own risk
• Always review scripts before execution
• We are not responsible for damage caused by executing scripts
• Use caution with scripts from untrusted sources

13. Intellectual Property

• The Service and its original content are protected by copyright and trademark laws
• You may not copy, modify, or distribute our code without permission
• Our name and logo are trademarks and may not be used without permission

14. API Usage

• API access is subject to rate limits
• Abuse of the API may result in account suspension
• We reserve the right to modify or discontinue API endpoints

15. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by:

• Updating the "Last updated" date
• Posting a notice on the website
• Sending an email notification (for significant changes)

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
